Over hundreds of years, in conversations with people at the end of their lives, those who are on their proverbial “death beds,” the results have been consistent. No one has ever reported that people said they wished they had worked more, wished they had bigger houses or better cars, wished that they had more stuff. Indeed, at the end of life, what people unanimously wish for, while expressed in various ways, is the same.
They wish that they had connected more… with others and with the world.
On this Memorial Day, on this day of remembrance, on this day of honor and gratitude, I invite you to meditate on connection, and on the ways that you connect with your life, with the sights, sounds and smells of the places you are, with the people you encounter along your journey and the people in your life whom you love and, most importantly with yourself.
Have a beautiful week, friends.
TRY THIS WEEK: See how it feels to ask yourself, how can I better connect with my world?

How is it possible to completely separate one person from another ? beautiful Blog!

Beautiful (I was worried that you wouldn’t post today due to the holiday…and I look forward to your Monday blog!). I’m going to take my cemetery walk later, “talk” to my family, and think I need to take my camera along today. As I’ve told you, I rarely walk with music on because I love listening to the sounds going on around me; and today there are many sounds, smells, and interesting sights. Thank you for making us think Dar. 🙂
Stunning! Reminds me I have to get back out into the bush with my camera!! Thanks for a much needed dose of inspiration.
Love your photos and your thoughts “out loud”. Thanks for the food for my sometimes sleepy brain. Carla
Love these pictures Dar. Spending time with my 97 year old Grandmother a lot recently has been reminding me of a lot of important lessons like this.
